Makes 4 toasts
In this simple breakfast, brunch, snack, or healthy dessert, seared cinnamon-laced apple slices top crispy slices of toast. Delicious for adults and kids alike!
2 tbsp unsalted butter or vegan butter
2 large apples, cored and sliced
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp honey
4 slices whole-wheat bread, toasted
- Melt the butter in a 10-inch skillet (not non-stick) over medium heat. Once melted, add the apples, cinnamon, and salt, and saute until tender, about 5 minutes. Add the honey, and simmer for another minute.
- Divide the apple slices atop the 4 slices of bread.
